Why is Great Southern Nights so important to NSW’s live music industry?
18 months of lockdowns, lockouts and restrictions meant live touring was basically decimated. It meant so many musicians and their amazing support crew were out of work for the duration. Great Southern Nights lets us get back to touring and to put on shows in regional areas of NSW we haven’t been able to get to in years.
How do you feel about performing at Great Southern Nights?
Byron Bay was the first leg of our Biggest Tour Ever back in 2019 so to return to Byron to do it all again will be amazing, especially at an iconic venue like the Beach Hotel. We can’t wait to bring our new live show for all our fans and truly soak up the atmosphere of a live show! What a place. What a time.
What are your three not to miss performances at GSN 2022?
Super hard to narrow down to three performances with such an incredible Aussie line-up! Check out the amazing Ruby Fields (Eltham) who is someone who certainly can't be missed. Her raw energy is so honest and brilliant.
We have been lucky enough to see the stunning production and vocals of Electric Fields (Sydney) live, and could not recommend them enough. And then to round it off, be sure to check out JK- 47 (Albury). This lad has among the best music coming out of Australia right now. Fire, fury and party - everything you want in a live show. Cannot wait!
What excites you most about performing in Byron Bay for Great Southern Nights?
Byron has a certain magic in the air. It's undeniable. It's intoxicating and we're down to clown.
Where do you love performing in regional NSW?
The Gong [Wollongong] goes hard every time. So hard it's unbelievable. We love it.
Where is your favourite place to travel in NSW, and why?
We think all of NSW is truly spectacular but Port Macquarie is beautiful.
What is your favourite restaurant in NSW, and why?
Fatimas Lebanese Restaurant in Surry Hills is a bang every time.
